Who We Are
Learning & Information Technology Services (LITS) provides improved effectiveness and efficiency in the University’s administrative processes including recruiting, admissions, registration, financial aid, student accounts, finance, human resources and alumni development offices; facilitates the use of technology by faculty in the teaching, learning and advising processes; improves the administrative decision-making process with accurate, timely and easily accessed data; provides students, faculty and staff with global access to computing resources and Internet access and services; builds upon the University’s strategic plan, develops and executes an institution-wide IT plan, and participates in Technology Governance and implementation of technology policies and procedures.
The NLU Technology Initiative
Central to the mission of National Louis University is the commitment to facilitate access to academic programs, provide academic support, integrate knowledge across disciplines, and encourage the active participation of learners. A National Louis University education enables the learner to fulfill personal and professional goals as a citizen of a diverse society and a global community. Sophisticated use of information technology is an essential, integral component of both the learning process and the provision of administrative and student support services.
To achieve these goals, National Louis University established an agreement with Ellucian, a company that provides in-house information technology services to colleges and universities throughout the United States. As part of this agreement, Ellucian staff members are part of the Learning & Information Technology Services (LITS) staff. LITS provides a full suite of network, Web development and computing services throughout the university community.
